Google Merchant Center Adds Promotions For Top Performing Products

5 Kasım 2025 saat 12:31

Google Products

Google added a new promotion method in Google Merchant Center for Top-performing products. This lets you just promote your best performing products in Google Shopping and Google Search.

This addition was spotted by Emmanuel Flossie who wrote about it on his blog and on LinkedIn - he said, "Google just launched a new feature for promotions in Google Merchant Center, anyone want to target top performing products?"

"Google has now introduced a more strategic option: you can choose to apply your promotion only to your top-performing products, rather than all products or specific product filters," he added.

Google AdSense Adds Confirmed Click Status Breakdown To Reports

22 Ekim 2025 saat 11:11

Google Adsense Reporting

Google AdSense added a new breakdown option named Confirmed Click status breakdown. This breakdown is available on all your reports under the "Breakdowns" dropdown selector at the top left.

Here is a screenshot of this option, it is labeled "New."

Google Adsense Click Confirmed Status

Confirmed Click is applied when a Google Ads system determines that the ads on your site are generating unintended clicks. You can use this breakdown to understand if a site or ads are creating unintended clicks because of where you've placed ads on your site.

Confirmed Click is a Google Ads product feature that adds a confirmation to ad placements that may be generating accidental clicks. When a user clicks an ad with Confirmed Click, the user will be asked to confirm their intent to visit the advertiser page by clicking a button associated to an action, such as "Visit site."

You can use this breakdown to understand if a site or ad unit is creating unintended clicks because of where you've placed ads on your site.

  • Applied: Confirmed Click is on and impacting your ads
  • Not applied: Confirmed Click is not on or impacting your ads

This breakdown is only available for reports starting on or after June 27, 2025.

I spotted this via Bruno Ramos Lara on X who also posted about it on his Spanish blog.

Google AdSense Authorized Buyers To Replace Ad Networks Blocking Controls

9 Ekim 2025 saat 11:41

Google Money Handshake

Google announced it will replace the "Ad networks" blocking control from Brand safety within in AdSense with a new "Authorized Buyers" blocking control. This will start on November 6, 2025, the company said.

Google said as part of these changes they will also remove the "Automatically allow new Google-certified ad networks" control. Going forward new authorized buyers will be allowed by default.

"Starting November 6, 2025, we'll be removing the "Ad networks" blocking control from Brand safety and adding a new "Authorized Buyers" blocking control. This new control won't include any inactive ad networks, test ad networks, or Display & Video 360 (DV360) networks," Google added.

Here is a screenshot from Google of this feature:

Google added:

What controls are available on the new "Authorized Buyers" page? As a reminder, authorized buyers have programmatic access to "Google Partner Inventory", which includes trusted ad inventory from publishers and developers who use Google Ad Manager, AdMob and AdSense, in an ad exchange environment. The most common authorized buyers include ad networks, trading desks, and demand-side platforms (DSPs).

On the "Authorized Buyers" page you can allow or block certain authorized buyers from bidding on the inventory on your site. You will also have better visibility into the parent-child relationships between authorized buyers and more control over them.

You can still use the "Automatically allow new Google-certified ad networks" control. If you currently have this control turned off, you might want to turn it on now to get used to the upcoming change.

You'll still be able to change the status of ad networks under Blocking controls > Ad networks. Any changes you make until the final day of the launch will be preserved and visible under Blocking controls > Authorized Buyers.

You can access a view-only version of the "Authorized Buyers" page to familiarize yourself with the controls. To access the page (after November 6th):

  • Sign in to your AdSense account.
  • Click Brand safety.
  • Click Content, then Blocking controls.
  • Click Authorized Buyers.

New Google AdSense Traffic Source Breakdown Report

30 Eylül 2025 saat 11:11

Google Adsense Analytics

Google added a new report to the Google AdSense reporting named traffic source breakdown. This report helps you understand the origins of your page traffic. It also categorizes traffic based on whether it arrived directly to your page, or from popular and classified platforms.

Google wrote, "we're announcing a new traffic source breakdown in reports. This breakdown helps you better understand where your visitors come from, so you can make informed decisions about your content."

You should be able to add this new breakdown in numerous reports:

Google Adsense Traffic Source

Here are the values in the report:

  • Direct: Traffic that arrived at your page directly or there was no source specified.
  • Other: Other traffic sources that are not yet specifically classified.
  • Bing: Traffic acquired from a Bing domain (e.g., bing.com).
  • Facebook: Traffic acquired from a Facebook domain (e.g., facebook.com).
  • FMKorea: Traffic acquired from an FMKorea domain (e.g., fmkorea.com).
  • Google: Traffic acquired from a Google domain (e.g., google.com).
  • Instagram: Traffic acquired from an Instagram domain (e.g., instagram.com).
  • Naver: Traffic acquired from a Naver domain (e.g., naver.com).
  • TheQoo: Traffic acquired from a TheQoo domain (e.g., theqoo.net).
  • X (Twitter): Traffic acquired from an X (formerly known as Twitter) domain (e.g., x.com)
  • Yahoo: Traffic acquired from a Yahoo domain (e.g., yahoo.com).
  • YouTube: Traffic acquired from a YouTube domain (e.g., youtube.com).

The traffic source breakdown categorizes the sites that send traffic to your pages. It separates traffic into two main groups: direct traffic and traffic from popular platforms.

(1) Direct traffic means visitors came straight to your page, or their source wasn't identified.

(2) Traffic from popular platforms includes visitors who came from search engines, social media sites, or other well-known sites.

This traffic breakdown report helps you see the origins of your page traffic at a glance.

This breakdown is only fully compatible with AdSense for Content (AFC). Traffic source coverage for AdSense for Search (AFS) traffic is limited. We don't advise using this breakdown on the AFS part of your inventory.

You can use it for reports starting on or after July 21, 2025.

Google AdSense Dropping Session-Related Metrics

26 Eylül 2025 saat 11:11

Google Sunset

Google is sunsetting the session-related metrics for Google AdSense. Google said this includes all metrics that rely on ad sessions, such as "Ad sessions", "Ad session RPM", etc.

This change is immediate and they are no longer available within the Google AdSense console.

Google wrote:

Session-related metrics in AdSense reporting have now been retired. This includes all metrics that rely on ad sessions, such as "Ad sessions", "Ad session RPM", etc.

Google added that instead, you should use Google Analytics. Google wrote:

For comprehensive session-level data and user behavior analysis, consider using Google Analytics. It offers a wide range of metrics, dimensions, and segments that provide deeper insights into your audience and website traffic.
